CHA advances child health through innovation in the quality, cost, and delivery of care. Representing 220 members, CHA is the voice of our member hospitals nationally. These hospitals are essential providers, setting the standard for the highest quality pediatric care while training the next generation of pediatricians. This position is ideal for communications or business (marketing) students seeking to gain experience in executive communications, cross organizational collaboration, partnering with and influencing resources from outside the organization, marketing, project implementation and being a part of an organization with a compelling mission and vision.

Candidates must currently be enrolled in a collegiate or graduate course of study, preferably in marketing or journalism, and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. If an undergraduate student, the candidate must have completed at least the sophomore year. Graduate students must be enrolled in a graduate program and not graduating before December 2020. Candidates with the following skills and experience are encouraged to apply:

  • Outstanding communications skills and a desire to implement change

  • Excellent writing, editing and analytic skills; ability to work in a team setting

  • Experience writing for a magazine, newspaper or other publication

Program Details:

  • The summer internship is a 12-week, full-time (40 hours/week) placement; compensated at $15 per hour
  • CHA will work with the intern and the respective educational institution to ensure appropriate administration of the internship and academic requirements
  • The internship is based in CHA’s Lenexa, Kansas office. Relocation, housing, mileage, etc. are not offered.

Experience and Skills:

Possible duties include:

  • Develop and curate content as well as procedure for the annual executive business reviews lead by Supply Chain Services (SCS) and Insurance Services teams

  • Special projects as assigned, such as performing a content audit, audience analysis, reviewing digital data and analytics for executive level communications

  • Support the SCS team in the strategy, development and creation of member-facing projects and other collateral, from creative concept to implementation and spread of information to targeted audiences
